The OSCARS 2014

the-oscars-logoSunday night celebrated Hollywood’s most prestigious annual event, seeing the 86th Academy Awards descend upon the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

After days of heavy rainfall, the sun finally shone just in time to welcome the world’s most glamorous ladies to the red carpet. Glitz and glamour were once again present in abundance with gorgeous, glistening gowns, precious dazzling diamond jewels and scene-stealing ensembles adorning the globe’s glitterati.

This year’s winners were the ever-beautiful Cate Blanchett who picked up a ‘Best Actress’ Oscar for her role in Blue Jasmine, plus she looked remarkably mesmerizing in a nude Armani Prive embellished pearl and sequin gown teamed with a pair of large diamond pendant-style earrings.

Kenyan actor, Lupita Nyong’o won an Oscar for her film debut as ‘Best Supporting Actress’ in 12 Years a Slave. Her full pleated powder blue Prada gown glistened as she twirled and was offset by a turquoise ring, gold bangles, silver statement stud earrings and an oh-so-chic crystal headband.
